The 26th JEONJU International Film Festival (JEONJU IFF, Festival Co-Directors Min Sungwook and Jung Junho) introduced the NONGSHIM SHINRAMYUN Award in collaboration with NONGSHIM, a major Korean food company best known and loved for its popular products such as Shinramyun, Chapagetti, and more.
The NONGSHIM SHINRAMYUN Award will be presented to a director from the Korean Competition section who demonstrates great potential and creativity, as selected by the jury. The recipient will receive a cash prize of KRW 5 million and a trophy. This award holds special significance for both institutions—JEONJU IFF and NONGSHIM—as they mark their second consecutive year of partnership. It reflects a shared vision that aligns closely with the values and goals pursued by the JEONJU IFF. The name “NONGSHIM,” meaning “the heart of a farmer,” symbolizes their heartfelt support for nurturing emerging talent—just like a farmer patiently cultivating seeds in the Korean film industry.
The JEONJU IFF has emphasized its commitment to discovering and supporting directors who will shape the future of Korean cinema. The NONGSHIM SHINRAMYUN Award aims to inspire emerging Korean filmmakers—not only by encouraging creativity but also by motivating them to continue their artistic journeys.
The 26th JEONJU IFF will be held from April 30 (Wed) to May 9 (Fri) throughout Jeonju. The winner of the NONGSHIM SHINRAMYUN Award will be announced at the Awards Ceremony on May 6 (Tue).
